FLOTILLA 5NR-12-SEAFORDAdmiral Thad Allen Commandant, U.S. Coast Guard (in response to
the Haiti earthquake disaster in January) "This is what we do.
Our Guardians are committed to protecting, defending, and saving without
having to be told to do so. Along with all Americans, I am truly inspired
by the Coast Guard men and women operating in theater, backfilling for
deployed units, or providing the necessary support to make it all possible.
As always, our Guardians are here to protect and ready to rescue at
a moment's notice. That is who we are and why we serve." |

![]() The vision extends well beyond the humanitarian scope of the Guardian into the reinforcement of environmental and cultural responsibility of preserving our homeland so that future generations will enjoy the same natural beauty we know.
